It’s time to tell the untold story. Our recent survey – Life with Osteoporosis – was completed by over 3,000 people with osteoporosis in order to find out more about the impact the condition has on people’s lives.
The survey found that:

Sadly, some of the findings in the survey are upsetting and highlight the need for better treatment, better GP training and better awareness and understanding of osteoporosis.
Jean Duggleby’s story is all too familiar. Jean visited her GP repeatedly with excruciating back pain. Although she had a family history of osteoporosis, she was always sent away with nothing but painkillers. When she finally succeeded in getting an X-ray, Jean discovered she had five spinal fractures. Her osteoporosis has had a terrible impact on her life, making it hard to do everyday tasks and stopping her from doing many of the activities she enjoyed. But it needn’t have been that way.
As the only UK wide charity dedicated to ending the pain and suffering of osteoporosis we cannot sit back and let people like Jean not receive the treatment they deserve. With your support we can put an action plan in place to improve the lives of people suffering from or at risk of osteoporosis and fragility fractures.
Please act now and change people’s lives for the better. Your gift today will help us raise awareness of the charity and the professional advice and tools we provide for GP's and practice nurses, including our dedicated website for Health Professionals. Your support will enable us to educate GP's in the full range of treatments available - putting an end to "one-size fits all" prescriptions. And importantly, your donation will help us to work with local health authorities to ensure that osteoporosis remains on the agenda for GP training.

If you could give £25, or whatever you can afford - we can put our life changing plan into action. Please help us to improve the quality of care of those living with osteoporosis today and give hope to people who are diagnosed in the future by giving a gift today.
Thank you for your support and kindness.
