Audience & eligibility

The lecture course is open to all healthcare professionals with an interest in osteoporosis and bone densitometry e.g. medical practitioners, specialist nurses, radiographers, technicians and clinical scientists.

Those delegates wishing to apply for Certification in Bone Densitometry should currently be bone densitometry operators working in clinical bone densitometry practice or clinical research who are:

  • Registered healthcare professionals
    or
  • Graduate scientists or those with equivalent technical qualifications working under the supervision of a registered healthcare professional

All applicants must have received local practical training in one or more techniques of bone densitometry and have had at least 6 months full-time or 12 months part-time (minimum one whole day per week) scanning experience at the time of the lecture course.

The National Osteoporosis Society reserves the right to refuse an applicant entry to the certification process at its absolute discretion.
