Assessing services
The National Osteoporosis Society welcomes a number of initiatives that aim to evaluate the provision of osteoporosis care and services, to collect data and to demonstrate practical steps that can be taken to make improvements.
Auditing the care given to those with or at risk of fragility fractures is important in ensuring that examples of best practice are identified and areas for improvement are highlighted. The information that audit provides can help bring about the implementation of a more consistent, high quality standard of service across the NHS.
We want the quality and systems of care for people at risk of falls, and with, or at risk of, fragility fractures and osteoporosis to be measured on a regular basis, to stimulate best practice.
