Lydia     Sorry I haven't replied sooner;  I don't look in very often.  After the initial spinal fracture, the others occurred fairly soon afterwards.  Since then mostly ribs, the last one a couple of years ago when involved in a car shunt.

Hi Pudsy

My daughter is 24 and suffers from Osteoporosis. I have recently asked for her last 3 scans and was shocked to see that she was 160.0cm when she was 19 158.0 when she was 21 and now she ia 153.5 in height. I was so concerned I called the Society and asked how can this be and they informed me that she may have spine fractures and thats why she is in constant pain. I have applied for DVLA for her because I am so concerned for the future she has a young baby of 1 year and finds it very difficult. I did not know that you can have spine fractures, I am thinking of you and know what you are feeling as my daughter suffers incredible pain. But I do try to get her not to take any strong medication as she is so young. Good Luck best wishes Lesley

Thankyou lesley for your good wishes. Things are still no better, i am now going to be seen at the uchl hospital for maybe more cement, its just over the year now since i had T12 cemented two new fractures this year and in so much pain. Had MRI scan in May, not looking good, my follow up appt is in Sept, but everybody is trying to get my appt brought forward, but my spinal surgeon who performed the first khypo is still away sick, so i have agreed today to be referred to another surgeon, who might come up with something, it just goes on and on. Fed up and still in constant pain. Gp was a waste of time on my visit last week. Best wishes to your daughter and all op ladies, pudseybear xx

Pudseybear
How wearying for you to be told 'go to this doc' --'oh sorry he's ill - go to this doc - or your GP' then to find out your GP knows zilch. Constant pain is so demoralising. I do hope that the 'new' surgeon comes up with a treatment that stops your pain.

You are so right sarah w, i am pulling my hair out at this very moment. I had a call from my OP  DR last night at 7.30pm, i could not get to the phone in time, so she left a message, well it was so muffled all i could understand was the word wednesday and comfirm. So today i have been trying to get in touch with her, i lhave left 2 messages for her, plus i rang my op nurse again the same thing, do they want to attend tomorrow or what. I had a reflexology appt at 12.30, and it takes all my energy to walk 15 mins to the clinic. Then my mobile rings but could not get to it before it stops ringing, no message and no number. Just in the last half hour my op nurse has telephoned, saying they want me to attend tomorrow, but i cannot go, i have another appt. Now she has rung again and arranged a appt for next wednesday to see the surgeon and my OP DR. I am sitting here in agony after my walk and the stress of trying to get hold of these medical people and find out what the message was has left me bloody drained!!!. Best wishes, pudsey bear x

That is just so frustrating - to be hung up on before you get to the phone. Could you leave a message on your ansaphone to say it might take you longer that 7 rings to get to the phone and please do not hang up?

Poor you, don't be bowed down by this - I am sure lots of people on this forum are routing for you.
