I found this on the National Osteo. Foundation Inspire forum. It not particularly new ideas but still may be of interest to new members.

Another interesting read is on the Dr. Mercola web site. "Little Sunshine Mistakes that can give you Cancer Instead of vit D. 26th March. I'm sorry I cannot work out the address. I automatically get a daily e mail from his site. Some are very interesting, others when he is trying to sell something: not so!.

This being a public forum, everyone has the right to their opinion and the right to express that opinion (within the constraints of the forum rules and UK defamation laws, obviously). Therefore Sarah is within her rights to express her wish that osteoporosis prevention be on the agenda of the National Osteoporosis Society.

However, for balance, I would like to draw attention to the numerous public health campaigns we have run over the years, including 'Bones 4 Life', 'The Sunlight Campaign', 'Love Your Bones', and currently 'For a Breakfree Future'. All all these campaigns either focus on prevention or have a large prevention element. Click here to read more about our public health campaigns.

If anyone feels we could be doing more then I invite them to take part in our online survey, the results of which will help us determine the Charity's strategic plan for the next five years. Click here to take our survey.

Drinking a great deal of alcohol cuts down on the level of calcium presented to your bones, raises parathyroid hormone, a kind of hormone that also decreases calcium, and stops your body from soaking up vitamin D, that is also essential for bone development.
