I live in Canada and have been diagnozed with Osteoporosis. My doctor has prescribed the Prolia injection which is given by sub-q injection every six months. I had the injection on Dec. 30th and so far have had no side effects. The injection was quick and painless - no more pills. I was on Fosamax for 5 years and that drug did absolutely nothing for me. My bone loss just deteriorated. Is there anyone out there that has taken the Prolia with positive results?

Hi
Had my osteoporosis clinic appointment this week, with my 3rd prolia injection due next month but I have been informed I won't be able to have another bone density scan until 2014 ! Obviously only every 4 years now so a while to wait to find out if its improved since being on Prolia but I was in the first group of people at my hospital to have the injections so I too would love to hear from anyone who has had a scan done since having the injections.

Hi ...I also live in Canada and am considering prolia injections. To those who have been getting this injection how are the side effects and how long do they last after the injection? After reading all the side effects it hardly seems worth it? Comments.

Im in England but its still quite new here so don't hear of many people having these injections. I had an instant pain in my groin when I had the first injection last February which lasted on and off for about 3 months but no other side effects. The second one I was lucky and didnt have any side effects at all, my next one is due next month so hope for none then either.

I've had 2 injections so far and am due to have my third in March.  Can't report any side effects apart from some very unusual positive ones which I reported on in an earlier thread concerning my bladder.  This treatment has been so much better than the alendronic acis as far as bad side effects go.
