Reading in the latest Osteoporosis News,
an interesting letter extolling the virtues of Pacer Poles, caught my attention.
I certainly need something to make me attempt to stand up straight.
So I wonder, does anybody have further thoughts on on these walking poles?
Nimrod.

I also saw the article on Pacerpoles and looked at their website and then sent Heather an email. We were soon in correspondence and before I knew it she had sent me a pair on approval. They are fantastic. I am walking taller with my chest open, shoulders back and down and I can cover the ground much faster than I was. The handles are comfortable and you do not have to grip them and I am learning the art of moving my fingers to keep them warm when needed while walking.
I have had a great deal of communication with Heather and she has been very helpful. I commented on having Raynuards and she sent me some mitts to try. I am going to get some.
I thoroughly recommend them. They are light weight and easy to learn to walk with. I had tried other poles but had not got on well with them and had to have lessons to learn how to use them. All at a cost.
Heather sells them on a keep or return basis with several weeks to try them.
good luck and happy walking.

| Hi I recently bought some Pacer Poles and they have changed my life. Due to a knee operation in October 2010, I have struggled to get back to walking any kind of distance. With the help of these poles, I can now walk upto 8 miles - no problems and better still no pain. Having oesteoprosis, I wanted to get back to walking more than the cycling which I also do, so I am highly delighted with these poles. They do take a little time to get used to but after a couple of walks, you find it all becomes second nature and you almost glide along, with less effort and more speed. I bought the 3 section carbon ones for lightness and better adjustment. I really would recommend them and that is from someone who is highly critical of everything I buy. Heather, who sells these poles, is very helpful and you can try before you buy!! not bad for something that cost nearly £90. Alot of long distance walkers also use them and sing their praises so that kind of recommendation does not come lightly. I hope now to continue to increase my mileage and put in more ups and downs. All now possible with these poles - a few months ago something I could only dream of.

I think I may be tempted to buy some of these (when funds allow). Where I live it's very hilly & I do find I need extra encouragement to tackle the steeper inclines whilst maintaining the correct posture. There are so many types of 'walking poles' around that in the past I've got confused as to which would be worth buying. Having read all your positive comments about the Pacerpoles, & the informative web site, these seem superb.
