| I wonder if anyone else has read this book. I found it very informative with useful information about acid and alkaline forming foods. It was published in 2005 so I suppose it may not include any very recent research. Sue

| Hi Sue, I'm a newby here. I'm 60 & recently diagnosed with 2 osteopeonic & 1 vertebrae osteoporosis. Its like a relief to read other people's stories & be part of a group. It seems very supportive with some nice people. Yes I've got that book, its got Dr. Marilyn Glenville PhD. Osteoporosis (how to prevent, treat and reverse it) on the front cover? This is the 2010 edition though & I think its the best thing since sliced bread. Has it encouraged you to make any changes? The chapter on biophosphonates I thought was a real eye-opener, and I like the way she gives all-round information on a subject, instead of just selling one advantage. One person said this new one was just the old book in a new cover, however, I imagine it does contain some recent developments and research info on OS. Its made me change diet & exercise totally Best wishes Debbie Anne

Alkali diet (+ no caffeine/sugar/salt/rhubarb/spinach) and exercise and supplements of Vit D (2,000IUs daily), Vit K2 as MK7, vit K2 Menatetrenone, Cod liver oil.

Hi Sarah,
I bought 'Osteoporosis the silent epidemic', but that was four years ago and it appears to be out of print now, they only have second hand copies availalbe on Amazon, so I would guess that 'Osteoporosis how to prevent, treat and beat it' is an updated version of the book.
Do let us know what you think of the book - next time I'm in a book shop I'll have a look at the new book and see how similar it is to Silent Epidemic.
Osteoporosis - Strontium Ranelate, Dekristol vitamin D3 20,000 IU/week, weight lifting, walking and vibration platform exercise, alkaline loaded diet, vitamin K2 MK-7 100mcg/d, K2 MK-4 5mg/d. Diabetes - Repaglinide, low carb diet and exercise. Congenital heart defect - Omacor and CoQ10

Both books are the 'same' but the info on medication is updated- as are the refences in the later book.
