| I haven't done much posting yet so thought it was time I did. I live in a flat and although I would love a canine companion, the scruffier the better, my lease precludes my having one. Sooo when not consuming large quantities of tablets for the o/s and visiting my gp, I walk every day alone, whether it hurts or not, and I design and make patchwork quilts. I am retired but have a voluntary job answering telephones at the end of a help-line for people in distress. That gives me a different perspective when I'm feeling sorry for myself - I have to put myself temporarily in someone else's shoes and makes me see how much people can suffer and ask myself why I'm complaining. I'm also an active member of a local church and love the lovely people I've met there; they gave me the most wonderful support and love during the 2 operations and weeks of convalescence after my hip fracture, when I hit rock bottom for a while. Love to everyone who bothers to read this.

| Hi Amelie. I read your post! My beloved has always had an interest in patchwork quilts, but I've yet to see her tackle one! Mind you, her eyesight isn't what it used to be, so that kind of limits her. Take Care,

It makes a difference when you can actually hear the language in its native form, so to speak. You can get a real sense of the power of the language when you hear it for the first time.

| As we had so many puppy pictures on here, I thought I'd add mine. Well, not actually mine but my dog was the father - so I guess I'm a grandad now!

When I am not on the forum..... go on facebook, pilates, excercise, (though that has gone out of the window, house selling, buying etc. so stressful!!).Listen to music, and go to the odd gig as and when! Lunch with friends, and still work, part time.... as a community nurse.....
Anyone want to do the BUPA 10k with me next year, in London?? I did it this year, power walked it in 1.37.Need a buddy, to help me raise some money for NOS xx

Dom (11/09/2009) Hi all, I think it's a great idea to have a General Chat section. To get the ball rolling - what else does everyone on the forum get up to when they're not busy posting? - Work? retired? any interesting hobbies?
Dom
Great idea! I loved reading miscellaneous topics. It's interesting to know different opinions from people all over the world on various topics.
