I've also got a dachshund! Mine is a miniature smooth and he is 4 1/2 years old. He is called Chip, short for Chipolata (miniature sausage dog - get it?) In my spare time I breed and exhibit rabbits, although that has taken a bit of a back seat while I have this broken hip! I love all animals and spend my time watching them, reading about them and some days, working with them too. I'm going to try & attach a photo of Chip here...

| Ahh, lovely picture. Looks like a very sweet dog. You breed rabbits, that's interesting - I went to the Bath & West show last summer and stumbled across an exhibition of lots of different breeds of rabbits, I hadn't realised that it was so popular. We have a netherland dwarf lop (I think) at home, he's a lovely rabbit. He lives in the house so he's very friendly, they're lovely pets.

Hi James, Yes showing rabbits is very popular. Before my hip fracture I used to be out with them at least once a month. Luckily I have good friends and they took me to the Hemel Show yesterday and the Northampton Show last weekend. I have been quite successful with my rex rabbits. Again, I'll try and post a photo! Your rabbit will either be a Netherland Dwarf (small rabbit, very short sticking up ears) or a Dwarf Lop (reasonable size with lopped ears), it can't be both!

This is 'Mars', my Best In Show winning Otter Rex rabbit.

Loving all the photo's on this thread
I'm 44, work part-time for my OH doing accts & reception in a busy MOT & Service Centre. We have two large dogs(gsdXhusky) so I'm out walking about two hours per day. I was walking & running with them in harness attached to a special canicross belt that sits just below my waist but I've stopped that until I can check with the consultant I'm due to see next month (I've just been diagnosed so have only seen my GP so far). I sometimes used to run them on a dog scooter but again have stopped for the time being. I'm not sure how bad or extensive my problem is yet so I'm sticking to fast walking, bit of slow jogging and gentle weights. I've decided to get the Wii back out and do half an hour a day, like I used to when we first bought it. We're going up to Aviemore in a couple of weeks so my OH & son can do some snow sports. I'm a bit gutted because my GP has advised against me learning to Ski at the moment
Here are my hairy monsters enjoying the snow we had a while back (sorry it's a bit blurred):

| Beautiful dogs, are they sarloos? (gsd + husky) I've always wanted a german shepherd, I think the next dog we get (a long time from now) will be one of those. Annamarie - it's a dwarf lop then!

| I go to Art class most mondays. All different talents are there so it works well. And one can choose what time to turn up so no pressure. I also post on other forums but not as much as I used to. I'm enjoying my new Lap top and have found UTube. great listening to all the old favourites and others. Yesterday I learned how to email photos. I think I can still remember!

| Hi, I have been researching my family tree, which has been great although having a rest from it at the moment, saving up for the next stage!! I am knitting baby bears which I learnt from a lady from another forum I belong to. I like doing cross stitch and have been known to draw and play with watercolours, but not recently. I also like gardening but have to be a bit careful with that now, luckily it is all container, so no heavy digging although some shrubs are beginning to grow through the pebbles where they are not supposed to (Blow it!!). Boneme
