Hello everyone,

We've created this new 'General Chat' forum, as there wasn't anywhere on here before where you could chat about non-osteoporosis-related topics.

Feel free to talk about anything you like, and please let me know via this topic if you have any problems.

Thank you.

What a good idea James.

Thank you.

I am absolutely new to all this but would like to ask a general question. How do I go about it? Do I just start a new topic/subject?

You can start a new topic if you wish, or respond to an existing topic. Once you've entered one of the sections ( like this one, 'General Chat', or 'Osteoporosis Chat' ) you'll see a list of topics - you can either click one of them to read it and reply, or you can click the 'New Topic' button to start your own topic.

There aren't currently any topics in this new 'General Chat' forum (apart from this one), so if you'd like to start one that would be great!

I hope that makes sense, please let me know if not.

Thank you.

Hi

I think it's a good idea the "General Chat"
as it helps you to divert from thinking too much about osteo

I am new to the Forum

Am feeling a bit low at present as I've had to put my dog down
but am determined to stay positive

Have joined a rambling club and climbed in Snowdonia which for me is a great achievement
as I didn't think I could do it but what an adrinalin rush when I did!
Going rambling on Saturday with the local club - coach up to Yorkshire and then a good long walk about 12 miles probably, looking forward to it.
I will be very careful not to push myself too hard though just in case!

Anyone else enjoy walking?

Cheers

Zadie

Sorry to hear about your dog. They're such a miss when they leave us, like any family member.

Walking is my main form of exercise. Even if the weather is dreadful & I don't really fancy it I have to get out there with the dogs.

We sometimes go away for a few days walking. Being in the North East we're not too far from Hadrian's Wall, the beautiful Northumberland Coast and we love to travel up into Scotland. We were up in Aviemore a couple of weeks ago for the ski-ing & snowboarding though I was sidelined as my GP advised against it. We're planning a walking week up in the Highlands during the Summer. My husband took up running again a year ago and recently did a half marathon. At 51yrs old he's now hooked and has entered 3 more races. He did the Great North Run when he was 21yrs old and hasn't really trained since so I'm very proud of him I'm still trying to persuade myself to get out running with him but I'm not quite there yet, preferring to walk! I'm only 45yrs old so feel I should push myself a bit more but I'm still coming to terms with my diagnosis.

Enjoy the Spring weather everyone

Zadie

Thanks to everyone for condolences on me losing my best mate, my dog.

Am off to Hayfield in Derbyshire tomorrow for what is going to be a strenuous walk, so they say!
Coach from here (Wales) should take us under the 2 hours.
Weather forecast is good.

Fingers crossed I keep up with everyone and make it to the top which I believfebelievend 2000 feet!
