Hi everyone, I'm interested in reading all your comments, surprised how many face the same problems. I recently had a private health screen and they found I had a low bone density result, now on Adcal, my GP tried to get me an appointment for a Dexa Scan on NHS but said they would only do one privately, due to cutbacks, so I am awaiting a private scan, been quoted £190.

Sorry to hear that. What a lot of money. I fell about 3 years ago and broke a bone in my wrist and because of that I got a free bone scan on the NHS. Apparently it was policy for women over 50 who had a fracture. The bone scan showed Osteopenia. Now I am on one a week tablets but I am concerned about the side effects. Your bone scan may be ok.

thankyou Adventurer for replying. I am still waiting for my Dexa Xray 4 weeks after seeing my GP even though I have to pay. GP said it could be the area I live in why I have to go private (North Devon) I have definitely lost height in the last few years, now having to turn skirts and trousers up quite often. Thanks again.
