This is probably a silly question, I have recently been to the dentist and she says I am losing calcium from my teeth, and she can find no reason for this. Can it affect your teeth in this way does anyone know?

How long have you had osteoporsis? Are you taking any medication? If so...for how long? Not sure if those answers will influence you losing calcium from your teeth? Do you try to eat a varied diet? Elsewhere on the forum there are posts saying about losing calcium with eating spinach etc...or to do with an acid type of diet....?Likewise there has been a suggestion that some of the bisophosphates. ...may help to slow bone loss down and by increasing the bone too..may in fact long term weaken the bone? Perhaps it is the same for teeth?
hope that helps?...or that you are able to look into more posts and see if you can find any answers? Hope you do...and good luck...

| A google search on osteoporosis and teeth suggests there could be a link but I don't know how reliable the sites are. You could try ringing the helpline or asking the question in the nurses forum if it's open.
