The National Osteoporosis Society has joined forces with Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood (pictured left) and one of our Patrons Dr. Miriam Stoppard to offer dance schools from across the UK a once in a lifetime opportunity.
We offered dancers the chance to perform in front of an array of well known celebrities at London’s Royal Festival Hall on World Osteoporosis Day, 20th October 2008, to inspire as many people as possible join in and boogie for their bones.
The day launched our new Boogie For Your Bones dance plan, which was specially designed by Craig and Miriam, for World Osteoporosis Day. The Boogie For Your Bones dance was performed to the live music of funk band Hula Groove who sang the Boogie For Your Bones song. To listen to the song click here.
We selected our four lucky winners to perform their version of the new dance steps in front of Craig and Miriam. The winners were Billiart Dance Company from Liverpool, Simply Dancing Partners from South West London, S.T.A.G from Hertfordshire and Margella School of Dancing from Kent.
Dance is invigorating, engaging and a great weight-bearing exercise. We will inspire people of all ages and abilities across the UK to dance to build stronger bones.
